The Miami Hurricanes are 16-21 (9-10 ACC) after losing a must win game to the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Hurricanes desperately needed to take advantage of a good opportunity to sweep a series this weekend, and with the loss today that’s out of reach.
The storyline of this game was the pitching. Pittsburgh had six hits, but were limited to just two runs. While Miami had just three hits and could manage only one run. The Hurricanes got a lead in the first inning. Freddy Zamora was hit by a pitch, stole second, reached third on a fly-out, and scored on a wild pitch to give Miami their only run of the day.
