Pitcher Andy Suarez first 'Cane taken in MLB Draft again

Last year, Andy Suarez made the surprising decision to bypass a professional career and return to Miami.

There’s no telling at this point if the left-hander will do the same after once again being taken in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft.

Late Monday night, Suarez – who will take the mound Saturday when the Hurricanes open College World Series play against Florida – was taken with the 61st overall pick by the San Francisco Giants.

That’s four spots lower than where he was drafted in 2014 when the Washington Nationals took him with the 57th overall pick, but it turns out his decision to return to school won’t be a costly one.
