Smythe, a former Notre Dame tight end, spoke with the Palm Beach Post’s Hal Habib about the Fighting Irish’s 41-8 blowout loss to the Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium last year. Now he will get to experience the Stadium from the perspective of the home team.
Smythe had 15 receptions for 244 yards and a touchdown last season for Notre Dame. In two career games against the Miami Hurricanes Smythe had two receptions for 21 yards. He had one catch for 16 yards last season.
Smythe is expected to be an old-school tight end for the Dolphins.
