CORAL GABLES, Fla. – No. 4 Miami overcame a slow start to capture its series opener with visiting Florida A&M Friday night, as the Hurricanes earned a 13-3 win at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
In the first matchup between the two teams since 1981, the Rattlers (25-14) opened the scoring on a two-run home run by Ben Ellzey in the second inning and lead 3-1 in the top of the fourth.
But the Hurricanes (31-8) plated 12 runs over the game’s final five innings to erase any doubt in front of 2,754.
