SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Thesecond-ranked Miami Hurricanes overcame adverse weekend weather to win the only game of the series at Notre Dame Sunday, as they topped the host Fighting Irish 10-2 at Frank Eck Stadium.
Even gametime temperatures in the high 30’s and heavy rain couldn’t cool off the red-hot Hurricanes, who have won 20 of their past 22 contests and a season-best nine straight games. The first two games of the series, scheduled as part of a Saturday doubleheader, were cancelled due to snow.
Making its first trip to South Bend since 1999, Miami received another strong outing from sophomore pitcher Michael Mediavilla and a five-RBI game from junior Zack Collins to improve their first-place ACC record to 11-2.
