In their first game as the No. 1 team in the country, the Miami Hurricanes showed why they are deserving of the ranking.

Behind a 12-run scoring output in the first four innings of the game, Miami trounced the visiting Kent State Golden Flashes 12-0 Wednesday night at Mark Light Field.

Alex Toral got the offense going for Miami with a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning, the first home run of the year for the first baseman.
