Mark Richt's first spring as Hurricanes coach has come to a close.
And the coach -- hired in December after the midseason firing of Al Golden -- walked away from his first spring saying he felt the Hurricanes were on the right track, but still adamant there is plenty of work to be done.
Still, spring games are usually a time for optimism, and there was plenty of that Saturday at Lockhart Stadium. Here are a few news and notes from the day, with game stats below.
