Despite how the coronavirus pandemic and social-distancing measures have put a halt to the Miami Hurricanes’ efforts to build chemistry through spring practices, grad transfer quarterback D’Eriq King has been proactive in keeping communication alive with his new teammates.
“Distancing physically makes it a lot harder to maybe develop those relationships on a personal level,” said new offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee in a Friday web conference with reporters, “but I know he stays in contact with the guys — both in the quarterback room and the skill spots.”
A star quarterback at Houston who threw and ran for 50 total touchdowns in 2018 before holding himself out after four games last season to retain eligibility for a fifth year, King has taken that initiative upon himself.
