Louis Hedley is close to a lock to be the punter over former walk-on Jack Spicer. Zach Feagles left the Miami program after two years of mediocre production. Feagles mediocre punting often deflated momentum for the Miami football team during his two-year tenure. He did not live up the legacy of his father Jeff.
The Hurricanes finished 115th nationally as a team in punting in 2018 with Spicer and Feagles both getting their chance to be the first team punter. Hedley’s 38.6 yard punting average at City College of San Francisco would have only moved Miami two spots higher in the national rankings.
