Hurricanes forward Dewan Hernandez won’t suit up for the Hurricanes this season — and will, according to the NCAA, miss 40 percent of next season if he chooses to return to Miami and finish his college career in Coral Gables.
Hernandez, who has missed all of Miami’s 19 games this season while dealing with questions about his eligibility, learned Monday of the NCAA’s decision in his case. Hernandez, whom the NCAA determined entered into an agreement with an agent and accepted benefits from that agent, is now weighing his options moving forward, his attorney Jason Setchen said.
