Long term injuries to backups Bradley Jennings and Waymon Steed and a leg injury to Patrick Joyner expected to keep him out until late September have taken Hurricanes veterans behind the seniors out of the lineup.
As Miami prepares to play Florida in two weeks freshmen LBs Sam Brooks and Avery Huff will be the primary backups to Quarterman, Pinckney and McCloud.
