Among the Miami Hurricanes to change positions in 2017 were Freshman DeeJay Dallas who moved from wide receiver to running back. Freshman Navaughn Donaldson who came to Miami as a tackle last year and Scott Patchan who moved from defensive line to tight end.
In all three cases, the players moved because of need. Dallas moved to running back after Miami lost starter Mark Walton for the season, Donaldson was moved to guard to start the five best linemen and Patchan was moved to tight end because of a lack of depth at the position in 2017.
