Tyrique Stevenson left Miami because he and his mother thought it was the best decision for him. But two years later, his career brought him back to South Florida, which propelled him to the NFL.
Stevenson, a Miami Southridge graduate and two-year Hurricanes starter, was the first Miami player to be selected in the 2023 NFL draft, going at No. 56 in the second round to the Chicago Bears on Friday night.
“I just know that my whole life, I put in the work,” Stevenson said at Miami’s Pro Day in March. “I stayed the course. I did everything that was possible for me to get here.
