In the middle of Manny Diaz throwing out the first pitch, the Miami Herald’s Susan Miller Degnan reports that Miami Hurricanes linebacker Michael Pinckney ran out on to the field and intercepted Diaz’s pass towards home plate. The Hurricanes brought the Sebastian the Ibis turnover chain that was hidden in Shaq Quarterman’s book bag.
Rising senior Zach McCloud was also in on the baseball caper. Diaz didn’t seem upset with the corps of his defensive in 2019. They all took pictures after the incident was over. The prank was made for the Austin Kutcher MTV show punk’d and was reminiscent of the hidden ball trick Miami once pulled off at the College World Series.
