Miami Hurricanes running back Travis Homer leaving for NFL

Homer became the Miami Hurricanes starting running back halfway through his Sophomore season. Starter Mark Walton was lost for the season with an ankle injury during Miami’s victory over Florida State. Homer led Miami in rushing the last two seasons and was an ace special teams player for the Hurricanes.

Homer’s decision got lost in the shuffle on the same day as the shocking news came down that Head Coach Mark Richt announced his retirement. Homer just missed out on 1,000 yards rushing in each of the last two seasons and 2,000 for his career.
