For the third consecutive week, the Miami Hurricanes survived late to improve to 6-0 in 2017. After decisive late drives to win games the last two weeks, the defense came up on fourth down with less than two minutes left to preserve the victory.
The Miami Hurricanes defense shut down Syracuse’s high powered passing attack. The Orange came into the game averaging 318 yards per game.
The Miami defense held Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey to 13 completions in 41 attempts for 137 yards, no touchdowns and four first-half interceptions.
Syracuse star wide receivers Steve Ismael and Ervin Phillips entered the game first and third in the country in receiving.
