The Miami Hurricanes football team’s streak to begin the 2017 season extended what was a five-game winning streak entering the season to 15. It also propelled them to second in the College Football Playoff rankings. Losses to Pittsburgh, Clemson and Wisconsin to end the end turned the streak in the wrong direction.
Season-ending injuries to running back Mark Walton, tight end Chris Herndon IV and wide receiver Ahmmon Richards depleted the Hurricanes depth in the skill positions on offense. Miami lost Walton in the fourth game of the season against Florida State.
