Scaife’s selection was surprising. He is projected as a four-star recruit but ranks near the middle of Miami’s top-ranked class of 2018. Rivals scores Scaife as a 5.8 rating. Several of his peers in the Canes class match his rating or are higher.
Other services such as ESPN and 247Sports have Scaife listed as a three-star recruit. Scaife is a 6’4 283 offensive guard. The Hurricanes stocked up on offensive linemen with the incoming freshman class. Miami’s 2018 recruiting class has only one other lineman committed.
Scaife is ranked 22nd in the nation at tackle and as the 56th best player in the state of Florida.
