The Hurricanes have said, throughout training camp, that they are embracing the sky-high expectations placed on them as they prepare for their season opener against LSU on Sept. 2.
Now there is more preseason recognition coming their way.
Miami, which is coming off its first 10-win season in more than a decade, was ranked No. 8 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll that was released Monday afternoon.
It marks the Hurricanes’ highest preseason ranking since they were ranked No. 6 in the poll headed into the 2004 season.
