The University of Miami basketball program, looking to replenish its talent after losing Lonnie Walker IV and Bruce Brown early to the NBA, landed a big oral commitment Wednesday when four-star point guard Isaiah Wong announced he will play for UM.
Wong, from Drexel Hills, Pennsylvania, is rated by Rivals.com as the 71st-best player in the 2019 class. He chose UM over Villanova, Clemson, Pittsburgh and Connecticut, among others.
UM plans to use Wong (6-2, 165 pounds) primarily at point guard, where he likely will back up Chris Lykes, but he also can play some shooting guard.
