After his team’s win over Florida State this weekend, Miami coach Jim Larrañaga noted that with some of the teams ranked ahead of Hurricanes losing last week, he expected Miami to return to the top 10.
That’s exactly what happened Monday, with the Hurricanes rising four spots to No. 8 in the AP Top 25.
It’s the first time Miami has been ranked in the top 10 since March 18, 2013, the season in which the Hurricanes won the ACC championship and made a run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Miami, which is coming off a 79-52 win over the rival Seminoles, is also ranked ninth in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which was also released Monday afternoon.
