After a season-opening loss to LSU, the Miami Hurricanes tumbled from eighth in both polls into the 20s. Miami was passed up by Kentucky in both polls this week after the Wildcats improved to 5-0 following a 24-10 victory over South Carolina. The other teams just ahead of the Hurricanes in the polls all fell.
Stanford, Michigan and Wisconsin were all immediately ahead of Miami in the polls. Stanford dropped seven spots after losing 38-17 at Notre Dame. Michigan fell one spot to 15 after their third-largest comeback in school history. The Wolverines rallied from 17 points down to win at Northwestern 20-17.
