Miami got a much needed win against the Owls on Wednesday to improve to 3-4 on the season. The Hurricanes were swept in a three game series last weekend at Florida. Miami was outscored 9-2 in the series and was shutout in the first two games.
Jesse Lapore has been sensational this season. He is 1-1 with a 0.90 ERA in two starts. The Hurricanes ace and Friday night starter was a hard luck 1-0 loser in the opening game against the Gators last Friday.
Lapore is allowing a .190 batting average against in 12 innings pitched this season.
