Martin sits two wins behind former Cal State-Fullerton, Texas, Illinois, San Francisco State and Cal Poly Head Coach Augie Garrido. The Miami Hurricanes need to win one game to prevent Martin from setting the record and two from tying it.
Martin is still without the elusive title that Garrido won five times. Garrido won 1,975 games in 48 years. He won three titles at CSUF and two at Texas. Garrido passed away last month at the age of 79 following a stroke.
The trip to the state capital will be the last between Hurricanes Head Coach Jim Morris and Martin.
