Miami Hurricanes HC Mark Richt Receives Walter Camp COY

The award is given by the Walter Camp Foundation in New Haven, Connecticut. The Walker Camp All-American team is the nation’s oldest dating to 1989. Richt is the second Miami Coach honored by the Camp Foundation. Jimmy Johnson won the award in 1986.

Miami’s 10-2 record is their best since finishing 11-2 in 2003. They will seek to match that with a win in the Orange Bowl over Wisconsin. The Hurricanes also won the Orange Bowl following the 2003 season with a victory over Florida State.

This is Miami’s first high tier bowl since the 2003 season.
