This year’s Orange Bowl may be new to the Miami Hurricanes players and some of their coaching staff but UM’s Orange Bowl history dates to the inaugural game in 1935.
When the Miami Hurricanes take the field against the Badgers, it will be the tenth time in school history that Miami has played in the Orange Bowl, but their first since 2004. Miami’s ten appearances in Orange bowl are the third most, behind Oklahoma and Nebraska.
The Hurricanes played in the very first Orange Bowl in 1935 at the old Miami Field. The Canes lost to Bucknell 26-0.
