Hernandez was expected to be one of the Miami Hurricanes two cornerstone players for the 2018-19 season. He was Miami’s leading returning scorer and rebounder from last season. Hernandez is Miami’s most talented player and gives them an athletic presence up front who they would not be able to replace long term.
The 6’10 post player will not play for the Hurricanes until his eligibility is cleared up. Miami Head Coach Jim Larranaga spoke to Zagacki about Hernandez’s status during the pregame show before the season opener against Lehigh.
