For the third year in a row, Miami Hurricanes Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz has been nominated for the Broyles Award honoring the best assistant coach in College Football. Diaz is in his third year leading the Miami Hurricanes defense under Mark RIcht.
Diaz has led the Miami Hurricanes to one of their best seasons ever defensively. Miami is second nationally in total defense and passing yards allowed per game, fourth in yards per play, first in tackles for loss per game and third-down defense.
Under Diaz’s tutelage defensive tackle Gerald Willis and defensive end Jonathan Garvin have flourished.
