The Miami Hurricanes have not played Alabama since a 34-13 Alabama shellacking of the Hurricanes in a 1993 Sugar Bowl. That game was three years after Miami defeated Alabama 33-25 in the Sugar Bowl to win the programs third National Championship.
Alabama and Miami have met 17 times total. The Crimson Tide have dominated the series winning 14 times and losing just three. The two meetings in the Sugar Bowl are the only times the teams have met in the postseason.
Alabama is playing in the Chick-Fil-A kickoff game this season against Florida State. It’s one of the most highly anticipated early season meetings in recent memory.
