Miami Hurricanes redshirt senior center Nysier Brooks has entered the NCAA transfer portal, a UM spokesperson confirmed to the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Monday night.
Brooks averaged 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and about a block per outing as one of two Miami players to play all 27 games in the 2020-21 season. He originally transferred to UM from Cincinnati and sat out the previous season due to prior transfer rules, which will not be in effect when he makes this transition.
Brooks joins guards Chris Lykes, Earl Timberlake and Elijah Olaniyi as UM basketball players opting to transfer thus far this offseason after Miami finished 10-17 in a season that started filled with promise but was derailed by a number of injuries.
