Miami Hurricanes can absorb lost of Nesta Silvera with DT depth

Miami Hurricanes sophomore defensive tackle Nesta Silvera left practice on Wednesday in a boot. News came out on Wednesday night Silvera will have surgery later this week.

The length of time Silvera is expected to be out will be determined after the surgery. Silvera had been playing with the second-team early in training camp.

Pat Bethel started 12 out of Miami’s 13 games last season next to All-American defensive tackle Gerald Willis. With Silvera out for the unspecified amount of time, junior Jon Ford is highly likely to be entrenched as the starter at defensive tackle next to Bethel.
