The historic Palestra in Philadelphia has seen its’ fair share of memorable college basketball moments since it opened in 1927. When the Miami Hurricanes visited the “Cathedral of College Basketball” Tuesday night, it was obvious they wanted to make an impression.
Using their best defensive performance of the season and 20 points off the bench from Ivan Cruz Uceda, the Canes ran all over La Salle in a 95-49 victory. The win moved the Hurricanes to 10-1 on the year and marked the sixth time this season Miami has won by at least 22 points.
From the onset, the Hurricanes looked determined to quickly pull away from the Explorers and looked to do so in an entertaining fashion.
