Miami Hurricanes Baseball: Chester and Lepore Taken in MLB Draft

Chester was selected in the 12th round, 343rd overall by the Tampa Bay Rays. Lepore went 716th overall in the 24th round to the Colorado Rockies. No other Miami Hurricanes were drafted.

Chester was one of only two Miami players to play in all 58 games this season. He led the Hurricanes with a .281 batting average, 63 hits, 41 runs scored, 13 doubles and 17 multi-hit games. Chester also finished the season with four home runs, 30 RBIs, a .367 on-base percentage and a .994 fielding percentage.

Chester has hit .298 with 32 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 84 RBIs and 35 steals in 186 career games over three seasons.
