Miami Hurricanes add West Virginia transfer Akheem Mesidor

Spring football may be over, but the Hurricanes are still getting more talented.

Defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor announced he would transfer from West Virginia to Miami on Wednesday night, announcing his commitment on his Twitter account.

Mesidor, a Canadian native, played two seasons with the Mountaineers. He had a strong sophomore campaign in 2021, racking up 38 total tackles with eight tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He also had four quarterback hurries.

In two seasons, Mesidor has 70 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.

Mesidor was an All-Big 12 honorable mention last season and was picked to Phil Steele’s All-Big 12 third team.
