After biding his time in the trenches, Pat Bethel has spent his last two years in Miami as a starter. From a blocked punt in his freshman year or to a forced fumble and recovery in his sophomore season, his early showings were full of promise. Bethel finished his junior year with career-highs in tackles (23) and sacks (2). When dominant defender Gerald Willis III and Kendrick Norton played their last snaps in a Miami uniform, Pat Bethel knew he would have to step up. As one of the few returning defensive tackles with experience in Manny Diaz’s scheme, his leadership has been indispensable.
