Miami-FSU predictions: Will UM keep postseason hopes alive vs. longtime rival?

Miami (4-4) vs. Florida State (5-3): 7:30 p.m., ABC, Hard Rock Stadium

Dave Hyde, Sports Columnist: Florida State 24, Miami 17

Florida State has shown the ability to score points. Miami hasn’t without quarterback Tyler Van Dyke. This game between the two once-proud powers looks as simple as that. With Jake Garcia, a redshirt freshman, the Hurricanes managed just 272 total yards in a 14-12 win at Virginia last week that lasted four overtimes. With UM fighting for bowl eligibility, expect a tight game but the edge goes to FSU — even if Van Dyke plays.
