Sophomore kicker Bubba Baxa has been unreliable for the Miami football team in 2019. Baxa made nine of his 12 field-goal attempts and 45 of his 46 extra-point attempts in 2018. Baxa has regressed to 5-9 on field-goal attempts and 17-19 on PATs in 2019. Hurricanes backup kicker Camden Price is out against Virginia.
Price will be available against Georgia Tech. If Baxa has more misses against Virginia there is no reason that Price is not given a chance to kick on at least PATs and short field goal attempts. Following the 2019 season if Baxa does not turn around his inefficiency immediately than Miami has to pursue someone for 2020.
