After a six-touchdown performance against Louisville, redshirt freshman Jarren Williams seemed to cement his role as the quarterback of the future for the Miami football team. Instead, Williams regressed against three opponents inferior to the Cardinals.
In the final three games of the season, Williams completed 47.6 percent of his pass attempts for 485 yards three TDs and four interceptions. The Georgia native averaged just 5.9 yards per attempt while getting sacked 11 times. The most disturbing stat of the above is Williams’ completion percentage.
Williams’ accuracy is his biggest strength. The Miami football opponents began to pressure Williams more in the pocket and that led to his regression from earlier in the season.
