The Miami football team was one of the worst in college football in explosive passing plays in 2018. The Hurricanes were 111th nationally with 83 plays of 10 yards or more, tied for 95th with 35 plays of 20 yards or more, 78th with 17 plays of 30 yards or more and 98th with six plays or 40 yards or more.
The lack of explosiveness on offense puts a lot of pressure on the Miami running game. The Hurricanes were able to avoid trouble running the football except for the games against LSU and Florida State.
