Miami football legend Ed Reed asks Twitter for coaching job

Ed Reed was the leader of the defense for the Miami football team that won the National Championship following the 2001 season. Reed’s former Hurricanes teammate Clinton Portis asked on Twitter later on Saturday night why more former college and NFL players are not given coaching jobs.

Unlike Portis, Reed has experience as an NFL assistant coach. Reed is not ready to be a head coach or even a defensive coordinator. Football is not like other sports that have hired inexperienced former players as head coaches. There is too much to consider running a football team to hire a first-time coach.
