Jaelan Phillips was the number one recruit in the nation in 2017 when he signed with his home state UCLA Bruins. Phillips joined the Miami football program this summer after transferring from UCLA. He is sitting out this season with Miami. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
In two seasons at UCLA, Phillips recorded 41 tackles, eight tackles for loss. 4.5 sacks and 2.5 pass breakups in ten games over two seasons with UCLA. Phillips played a rush linebacker in UCLA”s 3-4 defense.
At Miami Phillips is projected as a defensive end.
