Miami football defense back among CFB elite

The victories by the Miami football team in two of their last three games came against the top two teams in the ACC Coastal Division. Pittsburgh is defending ACC Coastal Division champions and Virginia is 3-1 and leads the Coastal Divison. With the victory Saturday at Pittsburgh, Miami is 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC.

Pittsburgh had 322 total yards on Saturday. The Panthers were 36th in passing offense entering the weekend averaging 270.3 yards per game. Miami held Pittsburgh to 146 yards and intercepted Panthers quarterback Kenny Pickett twice. The Panthers were able to run for 176 yards on 42 carries.
