D.J. Scaife played in all 13 games as a true freshman for the Miami football team in 2018, starting seven. Scaife was a four-star signee at guard out of Miami Southridge high school. After determining that Navaughn Donaldson is better suited for guard than tackle, Scaife became the starting right tackle for Miami in 2018.
Scaife started the Hurricanes seventh game of 2018 against Virginia at right tackle and remained there for the rest of the season. He will be a starter on the offensive line in 2019, the question is where. Scaife and Donaldson are likely to man the left side of the Miami offensive line.
