Katie Meier is one of five ACC Women’s Basketball Head Coaches to be nominated. The Miami basketball women’s team is 3-1 in games against other nominated coach’s teams in 2018-19. Miami defeated Marquette, Notre Dame and Louisville, but lost to Clemson. The Hurricanes play North Carolina State on Sunday.
Clemson’s Amanda Butler, Notre Dame’s Muffet McGraw, NC State’s Wes Moore and Louisville’s Jeff Walz are the other ACC nominated coaches. Butler and Marquette’s Carolyn Kieger are former Meier assistants.
Miami is having its best season in 14 years under Meier. The Hurricanes are 23-6 and 11-3 in the ACC.
