After trailing 31-30 at halftime, the Miami basketball team began the second half with a 7-0 run and extended it to 13-2. The Wildcats answered that with their own 18-5 run to take a 51-48 lead with just under nine minutes remaining.
Three-point field goals by Chris Lykes and Dejan Vasiljevic in the waning moments allowed Miami to pull away and provide the Miami basketball team with their final margin at 78-70. Lykes and Vasiljevic both finished with 20 points to lead Miami.
Bethune-Cookman was able to stay in the game with good shooting. The Wildcats made 45 percent of their shots from the floor and 10 of 13 from the free throw line.
