The Miami basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Charleston Classic on Thursday with a 74-70 victory over Missouri State. The Hurricanes led 64-46 in the second half before the Bears rallied and eventually cut it to a two-point deficit. D.J. Vasiljevic made two free throws with 1.2 seconds remaining to ice the win.
Vasijevic led a Miami perimeter game that continues to give the Hurricanes most of their scoring. The Aussie led Miami with a career-high 25 points. Kameron McGusty had 19 points and five rebounds and junior point guard Chris Lykes scored 11.
