With students back on campus and football starting, September has traditionally been the start of official visit season for high school seniors. Head Coach Jim Larrañaga and assistants Chris Caputo, Adam Fisher and Bill Courtney have the Miami basketball program in the hunt for several top 100 players in the 2020 class.
The hard work paid off as top 100 forward Matt Cross committed last Tuesday. A New England native from the same AAU program as Miami basketball alum Bruce Brown, Cross is a tough and versatile player who can play both forward positions.
This fall’s efforts follow onto a strong 2019 class that saw the Hurricanes sign three freshmen (guards Isaiah Wong and Harlond Beverly, forward Anthony Walker) and add two transfers (forward Keith Stone and center Nysier Brooks).
