The 25 point loss by the Miami basketball team to Connecticut on Sunday afternoon followed the Hurricanes 78-58 loss to Florida in the Charleston Classic semifinals on Friday. Like they did last season scoring droughts doomed the Hurricanes for the second straight game.
After taking a 22-20 lead with 8:23 remaining the in the first half the Hurricanes were outscored 16-5 to enter intermission. The Miami offensive woes continued in the second half. The Hurricanes scored 10 points in the final 10:45 of the game. UConn scored 23 points over the same span to pull away.
