The Miami baseball team held Florida State scoreless for the first 20.1 innings before an RBI double in the third inning plated the Seminoles first run of the weekend. The game was back and forth from there. The score tied or changed hands five times on the afternoon before Florida State went ahead for good in the eighth inning.
Miami’s defense collapsed in the final five innings of the game leading to three unearned runs for the Seminoles in the victory. Brian VanBelle who has been the Hurricanes Sunday starter all season had only his second non-quality start of the year in eight trips to the bump.
