The Miami baseball team was able to overcome the poor start by Slade Cecconi last week in a 16-6 victory over Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton. The win on Wednesday night for the Owls salvaged the final game of three-game season series. Miami won the first game 11-4 in Coral Gables in February.
The Hurricanes got off to a good start. Gabe Rivera’s second-inning home run gave Miami a 1-0 lead. Cecconi cruised through the first four innings allowing only one runner to reach base. The flood gates opened in the top of the fifth inning for FAU.
